Privacy Policy
ZippZapp helps you find local shops near you. This page explains, in plain language, what information the app and this website handle and what we do with it.
1. Who we are
ZippZapp is operated from Ranchi, Jharkhand, India by Gautam Kumar. For anything in this policy you can reach us at gautam@zippzapp.in or +91 7991123078.
2. What the app handles

About location
The app asks for location permission so it can measure the distance between you and each shop. That calculation happens entirely on your phone. Your coordinates are not transmitted to us and are not saved anywhere.
You can refuse the permission and still use ZippZapp fully — you will be asked to pick an area instead, and everything else works the same.
About usage counts
When someone views a shop, taps Call, taps WhatsApp or asks for directions, we record that the action happened. This lets us eventually show a shop owner how many people their listing reached.
These records contain the type of action, which shop it related to, and the time. They contain nothing that identifies you — no name, no phone number, no email, no device identifier, no advertising ID, and no location.
3. What we do not do
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not collect your name, email address or phone number in the app.
- We do not track your location in the background.
- We do not use advertising identifiers or show third-party adverts.
- We do not sell or rent information about you to anyone.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you.
4. Shop information
Details shown about a shop — its name, address, phone number, opening hours, photographs and offers — are supplied by that business for the purpose of being found by customers. This is the same information a shop displays on its own signboard.
If you own a listed business and want your listing corrected or removed, write to gautam@zippzapp.in and we will act on it.
5. Contacting a shop
Call, WhatsApp and Directions hand the action to another app on your phone — your dialler, WhatsApp, or your maps app. Once you leave ZippZapp, that app's own privacy policy applies. We are not part of the call or the conversation, and we do not see what you say.
6. This website
Browsing this site requires nothing from you. If you fill in the List your business form, we receive the business details you enter — business name, contact name, phone number, area and category — so that we can contact you about a listing. That is a business enquiry, and we use it for nothing else.
7. Who else is involved
We use Google Firebase to store shop listings and to host photographs. Firebase servers used by ZippZapp are located in Mumbai, India. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own terms.
The app is distributed through Google Play, which collects its own information under Google's privacy policy, separate from ours.
8. How long things are kept
- On your phone: until you clear them, or until you uninstall the app.
- Shop listings: for as long as the business wants to be listed.
- Anonymous usage counts: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Business enquiries: up to 24 months, or sooner on request.
9. Children
ZippZapp is a business directory intended for general use. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
10. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have rights over personal data held about you. Because we hold almost none, most of these are simple to exercise:
- Everything on your phone is under your control already. Clear your search history in Profile, remove saved shops with the heart button, or uninstall the app to remove all of it at once.
- Usage counts cannot be traced back to you, because they contain no identifier for you. That also means we cannot single yours out to delete them.
- Business enquiries can be sent to you, corrected, or deleted on request. Write to gautam@zippzapp.in and we will respond within 30 days.
11. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and our database is configured so the public can read shop listings but cannot alter them. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold very little about you in the first place, which is the strongest protection available.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how ZippZapp handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app.
