A Closer Look at the Ranchi–Patna Route

ZippZapp Team·4 min read

ZippZapp didn't start with a long list of routes — it started with one: Ranchi to Patna. Here's a closer look at the corridor itself, and why it made sense as the place to begin.

The route itself

Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, connects to Patna, the capital of Bihar, along a road route of roughly 325 kilometres. It's a well-travelled corridor — for work, for family, for students moving between the two states — and it's driven often enough that finding a car heading the same way, the same day, is genuinely realistic.

Why start here

Building a ridesharing network route by route, rather than trying to cover the whole country at once, means there's a real chance of having enough car owners and passengers on the same route to make matching actually work. Ranchi–Patna has the travel volume and the road connectivity to support that from day one.

What's next

As more car owners and passengers join on this corridor, ZippZapp plans to open up additional routes the same way — one corridor at a time, rather than spreading thin across the map before any single route has real depth.
