ZippZapp Local is a local business directory for Ranchi, Jharkhand. It helps you find shops, products and services near you. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what stays on your own phone.
The short version. You do not need an account to use ZippZapp Local. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number. Your favourites and recent searches are stored on your phone, not on our servers. We do not sell your data to anyone.
If you allow it, the app reads your device's approximate or precise location so it can show how far each shop is from you and sort nearby shops first. This calculation happens on your phone. We do not store your location on our servers and we do not keep a history of where you have been.
Granting location is optional. If you decline, the app still works — you can browse and search every shop, you simply will not see distances.
If you are a business owner and submit a listing enquiry through the app or our website, we receive what you type into that form — typically your name, your business name, a contact number, your area and your category. We use it only to contact you about listing your business in the directory.

Uninstalling the app deletes all of it permanently.
The app fetches shop listings from Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). As with any internet request, Google's servers receive technical information such as your IP address and device type in order to deliver the response. This is standard infrastructure logging and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy.
Business names, addresses, categories and phone numbers shown in the app are business contact details, published so that customers can find and contact those businesses. If you own a listed business and want your listing corrected or removed, email us at the address below and we will action it.
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes. We rely on these service providers to run the app:

Business enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and to maintain the directory listing, and are deleted on request. Data stored on your phone is kept until you clear it or uninstall the app.
ZippZapp Local is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Because the app collects almost nothing, in most cases the answer will be that we hold nothing at all. Email us and we will confirm.
Data in transit between the app and our services is encrypted using HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but the app is designed to hold as little personal information as possible, which is the strongest protection we can offer you.
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app release notes on Google Play.
